California Winds Blow Poisonous Mine Dust

All over the U.S there are abandoned gold mines. What we don't know is about is the harmful waste left behind. Randsburg, CA winds in excess of 25mph blow a thick dust full of arsenic across the desert terrain into people backyards and homes. Feds say the area has the highest arsenic levels in country. The clean up and care of abandoned mines is run by BLM, a division of the Interior Department. An audit of their department in 2007 revealed that they failed to adequately clean and maintain mines. Auditors found piles of contaminated waste in residential areas. Test run in theses areas on residents and soil did not reveal harmful levels of arsenic but said that it can still be ingested in food or inhaled. What's sad is that they have been knowing this for years. Total cost to clean up U.S. mines is estimated at $72 billion. Money we don't F***N have! How you gonna tax us and kill us slowly at the same time?
