LA Laker pop'd by OneTime for Assaulting IHOP Employee

Los Angeles Lakers forward Derrick Caracter was arrested for drunkenness and allegedly shoving a cashier after being refused service at a pancake restaurant in New Orleans, police said on Monday. Police said the 22-year-old reserve forward was “obviously drunk, unruly and started harassing the cashier” when he was refused service at the restaurant early on Sunday.

“One officer was called to the restaurant, and attempted to diffuse the situation. But Caracter was uncooperative, so that officer called in back-up,” the New Orleans Police Department said in a statement. “Caracter continued to be belligerent with police and was subsequently arrested.”

Caracter was booked into jail on charges of battery, public drunkenness and resisting arrest, according to police, who also said they are trying to obtain a copy of the video surveillance recorded by a camera at the International House of Pancakes.

Caracter, who averaged two points and one rebound per game during the regular season, was released by police but did not play in his team’s playoff loss to the New Orleans Hornets later on Sunday.

Say it Aint so Soulja Boy to play Bishop In "Juice"

Soulja was talking about accepting a movie role on his Twitter about a month ago. Of course I thought it was some cameo appearance, but Oh Hell No. He’s in the Vibe this month talking about playing Bishop and releasing mixtapes. Peep Vibe article below.TuPac is sitting up in his grave!
VIBE: Can you tell us a little bit about the story line for Juice?

SB: Basically, it’s your boy Soulja and I’m Bishop in 2011, running around in the streets, man. You know how the movie goes, but we’re flipping it and shooting in Atlanta. I want to show these people my acting side and me being creative—always giving them something new; that’s all. I got same video director that shot “Crank That,” “Kiss Me Through The Phone,” “Turn My Swag On” —my most successful videos. The whole mixtape is the soundtrack for the movie.

Vibe: Did you cast any other rappers in the flick?

SB: Yeah, man. Actually Cam’Ron reached out to get in the movie. Some of the original actors that were in the original reached out too. We’re in pre-production right now. We start filming on the Apr. 28th in Atlanta. It’s going to be crazy. Of course I’m going to have my S.O.D. family in there. We’re juicing up!

Judge Grants injunction to lift NFL lockout

A federal judge in Minnesota granted players an injunction Monday to lift the NFL lockout, according to a report. NFL owners are almost certain to appeal the decision.

U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson ruled in favor of the plaintiffs in Brady v. NFL and also denied the owners a stay, NFL.com reported. If the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis doesn’t grant the owners a stay, the 2011 season could start in theory.

The Eighth Circuit would be where any future appeal of Nelson’s decision would be heard.
