A federal judge in Minnesota granted players an injunction Monday to lift the NFL lockout, according to a report. NFL owners are almost certain to appeal the decision.
U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson ruled in favor of the plaintiffs in Brady v. NFL and also denied the owners a stay, NFL.com reported. If the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis doesn’t grant the owners a stay, the 2011 season could start in theory.
The Eighth Circuit would be where any future appeal of Nelson’s decision would be heard.
